The Governor’s Workforce Board RI (GWBRI) is seeking proposals for the creation of Industry Partnerships for key industry groups with identified labor market demands and growth potential. The industry groups include Construction and Finance. The GWBRI identifies an Industry Partnership as a coalition of companies within an industry sector that collaborates to improve the competitiveness of the industry and addresses workforce development issues related to their existing and future workforce.

Industry Partnerships are expected to serve as the voice for that industry, as well as the vehicle for effective solutions. Therefore, proposals must articulate strategies that the partnership will employ to facilitate effective and collaborative efforts to identify industry challenges, as well as short- and long-term skill gaps, and to assist in the alignment of education and training curricula and services.

The intent is to create pathways for job and business growth as well as enhance the viability and competitiveness of the industry within the context of Rhode Island’s 21st century economic, education and workforce development needs.

Organizations that are willing to invest and participate in the development of such partnerships are encouraged to respond to this Request For Proposals.

For additional information or for clarification or inquiries, please contact Nancy Olson at nolson@dlt.ri.gov or call (401) 462-8862 .

Proposals must be labeled and addressed accordingly to:
