Request for Proposals For a Manufacturing Industry Partner
The Governor's Workforce Board (GWB) is seeking proposals that demonstrate the capacity of an existing or proposed industry partnership to serve as a “workforce intermediary” for Rhode Island’s manufacturing sector. The GWB Manufacturing Industry Partner will provide information to and from manufacturing companies that will inform, promote, align, and leverage training and education investments in order to meet the workforce needs of Rhode Island manufacturers. Proposals may be submitted by existing partnerships or those formed in response to this Request for Proposals (RFP).

Applicants are strongly encouraged to attend the Pre-Proposal Conference on Tuesday, May 15, 2012 at 8:30 A.M. at the Department of Labor & Training, Conference Room 73-1, 1511 Pontiac Avenue, Cranston, RI. GWB staff will address the objectives of the RFP in detail, including criteria that must be met for proposals to be accepted, and will respond to attendees' questions.
Pre-register by contacting Maureen Mooney at mmooney@dlt.ri.gov or by calling (401) 462-8864. Questions raised at the Pre-Proposal Conference that require clarification or any amendments to this RFP will be posted to www.gwb.ri.gov prior to June 1, 2012.
Please bring a copy of the RFP to the conference. The submission deadline for proposals is 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 8, 2012.

Employers can apply for up to $40,000 in matching funds to invest in incumbent worker training that builds and retains a high-skilled, high-performance workforce. Program goals are to increase worker productivity, to improve operational efficiencies and to create workplace innovation, talent development and promotional opportunities.
